Roll the window down and carefully push the door panel away at the top right above the latch rear of door then look down inside the door at the latch and figure out which rod fell of the latch. I have a 2008 chevy silverado crew cab lt 5 3 flex. My problem is the door locks on both driver side doors will not lock or unlock by switch on door or remote but both passenger doors do.

I have truer everything but taking the door panel off because the door is closed. The lock on my door still goes up and down as if it can be locked and unlocked. The handle is doing it s job and the door panel isn t complete attached and hanging up in the door jam. Driver door won t open from the inside.

My wife called me on the phone to say that she was locked in the truck and couldn t get out. I went to get into my truck the other day and i wasn t able to. You can take a long screw driver of piece of drill rod and manipulate the lever that opens the latch to get the door open and make repairs as needed. Drivers side door won t open.
