Attach Pegboard To Wall

We used two 2 1 2 wood screws to attach each 1 x 2 boards to 5 floor joists.

Create pegboard walls by running 1x3 strips horizontally at the top and bottom of the panel and every 16 in. You want the board to stick out of the wall to leave space for hooks. Make sure they are secure and flush to the surface. Normal drywall or wood screws will work however the large washer head of lathe screws will help prevent tear through when mounting heavy items.

Drywall screws through the pegboard and into the anchors starting with the top corners. After the pegboard is secured to the wall gently pull at the corners to test the connections.
